I reclaimed my Oath a total of 3 times, and noticed the prices hiking up substantially each time. 1st cost 1k, 2nd 2k, 3rd cost 10k to reclaim. I would have broken a 4th time to see if the price went beyond 10k, but I didn't have enough gold on me at the time ...

Larian probably just forgot the line of code that switches them from being "good" to "evil," basically. Oathbreaking is goofy. You should break your oath when you break the tenants of said oath but when the game is wonky. You are not allowed to go back on your word as OaD. Be super careful with committing to anything.
