You need to get some metal wire. Barbed wire is used to put on the bottom or top of your fences/gates as a defence. Metal wire is used to make gates. I've blown up gates with 5 grenades, 4 placed in the ground and i drop and run for the 5th. However it's not every time. Mainly use guns that use these ammos for raids since they use less bullets to take down a wall because of the amount of damage they can do: 5.45x39. 7.62x39.
