Elex 2 is a bit different. I feel ranged energy weapons are severely nerfed. Shotguns however are fantastic and bows are really good too. The bowstring draw mechanic is nice. Them getting rid of various ammo types for ranged weapons, however, sucks. In my experience, best weapons are laser weapons. Ammo is cheaper and you can shoot burst. Just pick the best you can find and mod it.
