Adjust the jaws of the valve spring compressor until they touch the top and bottom of the valve chamber. Push the tool in until the upper jaw slips over the upper end of the spring. Tighten the jaws to compress the spring. Remove the retainers and lift out the valves, compressors and springs.

Did it this morning, and discovered that the valve adjustment-WASN'T!! Couldn't get a .002 feeler gauge in any of the four valves. The specs on this engine call for .004-.006, my feeler gauge set only had .005 so that's what I used.
