I prefer the slick "frying pan" type finish on my Glocks from a few years ago, but lots of people like the less slick finish. I own a brand new Glock 48 MOS (all stock), and has shot around 400 rounds total (all commercial rounds from different manufacturers). During my brief ownership, I've experienced around 40-50 FTFs. At my latest range visit, I shot 150 rounds using 115 gr. Magtech FMJ, 124 gr. Sig Elite Ammo FMJ, and 124 +p Federal HST.Even then you likely cannot physically move the slide with similar force nor speed as a round firing. Those 43 springs are tight and short. They have to be to absorb more recoil from the small, light, slide. After 100rds or so, it’ll break in and smooth out. Snap caps are preferred in you house.
