I thought it might be due to speed so i tried a slow turn but it was still crap. Guess ill just pull it around for now or launch with sails then switch to motor.

The basic Life Raft you start out with also won't you get very far.

The rafts do float away now. make sure you anchor them or drag them onto the beach. The raft building mechanics have been changed, you no longer simply put a foundation on the water. Instead you will have to build a raft consisting of several "layers". Take a closer look at your crafting menu, especially the head line!

The physics applied to rafts has always been terrible, the ability of sharks (and waves) to tip over built rafts should be toned down. Raft is still under development , at least until the second chapter is released in early fall. stranded deep has a more realistic feel and graphics as compared to Raft. Stranded deep resources are limited, there is no such thing as respawn resources in stranded deep except 1 or 2 things.
