I bought a 36 after trying a 30. I wanted a compact .45,shot them both & the 36 felt better & I shot it better. Not long after a friend of mine @ work bought a 30sf. The 30sf definately felt better in my hand than did the 30, & had the shop had a 30sf when I bought the 36 I probably would have gone with the SF in favor of the larger ammo capacity.However, the advantage of the G30S over the G30 Gen4 ends there. I like the Gen4 grip frame better, but as you know the G30S uses the same size frame, just in Gen3 SF form instead of Gen4. The slide is thinner on the 30S as it uses a G36 slide (on a G30SF frame).The G30S uses a unique slide stop/slide release which is also used in the G41 for their thinner slides.
