I have been toying around in the PoB getting rid of some Lightning damage notes and adding minion damage notes and the Spiritual Aid note. It is possible to add alot of damage to the golems without loosing damage yourself.

You basically can't run that map mod with Lightning Conduit (you could but it'll feel terrible). I think you're underestimating Overcharge, but it does take more investment than Shaper of Storms.
