I feel like I’m losing my mind. I am in Chainscrape, attempting the melee pit challenges and the first challenge is to defeat the opponent with the block breaker move. I literally have used ONLY that combo several times now to completion and the dude who runs the pits keeps saying nope that’s not right, and I fail the challenge.

After playing Zero Dawn where melee was pretty bad, I really needed some way of getting good and to practice these new mechanics in Forbidden West. There's no block or parry so Aloy has no real "defense" aside from dodge/roll. Her melee damage is mostly about stringing together combos, resonator blasts etc., instead of having upgradeable melee options (swords, hammers, axes etc). Aloy is a hunter, not a warrior.They have this broken combat system that they couldn't remove because they'd already invested in paying the artists for the skill tree, and paying game designers for the Pits. Its rubbish, but they couldn't fix it in time for launch. Maybe they'll fix it, and all the other things in a few months. Who knows.
